Simple Innovation Saves Lives

The photo below is a "PlayPump". Yes, it's a toy - a toy that brings healthy drinking water to people who previously had to walk miles every day for generally unsafe water out of contaminated lakes, streams, and other bodies of water.

The second photo shows how it works. It is a fairly simple innovation, but it's made huge impacts. The women and young girls who used to spend a good part of their day walking to collect water can now get it at home, AND have fun.
The time saved means these young girls can attend school and get an education.
